🎶 At Last...

At the time of writing this blog, it’s been only a few days after Grant and Sarah’s wedding, but whenever I reminisce about it, my brain instantly starts playing:

“At last, my love has come along...”

The Etta James classic version. So to get the full experience while you read this, please do me a favor and play this track while you thumb through their photos.

When I received Sarah’s answers to her wedding questionnaire, her answer to, “what is the style of your wedding,” was “classic.”

AND DID SHE DELIVER!

I don’t know where to start. All the elegant elements of wedding traditions were included. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and even a penny in her shoe.

The details came together so lovely. An heirloom string of pearls, Sarah carrying her grandparents’ wedding rings with her, lovely paper fans, a cathedral veil, the longest train my eyes have ever seen in real life. It was a wedding photographer’s playground.

The heartfelt church ceremony took place at Sarah’s home church, Glad Tidings in Bangor, Maine. Sarah and Grant adhered to the tradition to “not see the bride before the wedding,” so when he saw her…

I saw the reaction of a man who felt like the luckiest man on earth.

They shared traditional vows, and personal vows that reminisced on important details of their love story, from which I learned that it all started with a designed setup from their mothers.

When the party exited, I was delighted to capture the two mothers celebrating their victory in matchmaking!

Then we were off to the reception at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bangor, Maine.

While the guests settled into the Grand Ballroom, we flew through the family photo and wedding party shot list.

Then my absolute favorite part of the day began: couple portraits.

It was a warm sunny day, but with a surprising amount of wind. I had some concerns about that until the cathedral veil showed up to party in the breeze. I was absolutely dumbstruck.

I won’t lie, my assistant Tina had to turn into the full-time veil handler, but the results were epic!

Then it was time for Sarah and Grant to party as hard as that veil did.

Their grand entrance kicked off the reception in the Grand Ballroom.

And family and friends showed that dance floor what it was made for.

Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Little!
