I've known Kalena for years.
We grew up in the same town, attended the same church, and our sisters have grown up beside each other's. I had the honor of being her sister's wedding photographer, so I was thrilled to be able to be her photographer too!
I had met Ben at the previous family wedding and was struck by how much a part of the family he was already, but now it was to become official at a beautiful, intimate ceremony of their own.
Ben and Kalena were wed on land that had been in the family for generations, so much so that the road that leads to the family houses was named after their last name.
Surrounded by family and the closest of friends, Kalena and Ben were united in marriage in a field overlooking the pond that his great-grandfather dug many years ago.
The ceremony was conducted by a friend, and a special unity blessing was given by a dear friend and “neighbor across the road.”
There was no rushing, no stress, no timeline, just a peaceful joy that covered every person gathered on the field.
With this couple's glowing smiles, you don’t even see the rain. I think that will be true for any day following. They have found each other, and so they will always have sun.
