What a beautiful day we had during this maternity session. The weather was amazing, the light was golden, and this expanding family was just glowing. We talked about a few location ideas, then I remembered the Ecotat Gardens and Trails in Hermon, ME.

In the spring of 2021, I visited the garden with an amazing couple on their wedding day at the golden hour, and we left with hundreds of beautiful couple portraits. Since it was close to the same time of the year, I had a strong feeling that Ecotat Gardens would deliver... and did it ever!

We weren’t the only people who thought it was the perfect evening to visit the garden. There was a group of families enjoying a picnic and a small team of volunteer gardeners tending the spring flowers, but there was still plenty of space left for us to take photos without unexpected photo bombs from our neighbors.

Can I just tell you, I loved this session? The lighting and the location just made it so easy. As the time went on the lighting just got better and better. I thought the beginning photos were amazing, but so many photos towards the end of our time together were EPIC. The kind of photos that make me go home happy that I do this whole photo thing and make me a little more obsessed with photography.

Here's the inspiration board we came to the session with, and here's our version from what we took that evening.

Even though the family dog didn't join us, all in all, I left happy with our version of the inspiration board for the session. Hope picked out a great variety to show the "feel" she wanted for the session, and then Brandon and she really made it their own.

Hope & Brandon, I’m so glad that our calendars (and the weather) aligned for us! Thank you for asking me to do your maternity photos. I can’t wait to see your little one after her grand entrance into this sweet family who loves her so much already. Congratulations on this new chapter together.
